Creates basic designs of VIP aircraft interiors, structures for Fit, Form and Function to meet customer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements, budget and project schedules using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools.
Requirements
- Designs mechanical aircraft interior furnishing and/or structures
- Analyzes and interprets subsystem and project specifications
- Selects materials for mechanical designs based on structural needs and materials specifications
- Works with materials suppliers and material testing when needed
- Applies experience and knowledge to optimize designs for reduced parts counts, reduced manufacturing costs, reduced assembly error, and other factors affecting production cost and quality
- Ensures designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements
- Adheres to budget and project schedules
- Provides design guidance and feedback to other engineering personnel
- Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge in mechanical design practices, materials, components, and software design tools
