Building Attendant

The Building Attendant independently performs duties related to the housekeeping operations of the College. Maintains facilities in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Performs routine and non-routine duties, participates in set-up and breakdown for special events and moves furniture. The Building Attendant is expected to safely use and maintain all related cleaning equipment and perform a variety of tasks requiring physical dexterity, safe work practices, and a knowledge of cleaning chemicals, methods, procedures, supplies and equipment.

Requirements

• High school degree
• One year of paid employment experience in custodial or building maintenance assignment(s)
• Ability to safely lift 50 pounds, unassisted to waist level
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, push, pull, stoop, twist, grasp hand tools, climb ladders up to 20 feet with assistance and ten feet unassisted
• Ability to work on feet for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Ability to work well without continuous supervision
• A willingness and ability to work overtime in emergency situations
