At HDR, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services Group. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the work of the mechanical design team and develop complex ductwork and piping areas. You will also be responsible for writing and editing mechanical specifications, reviewing mechanical documents, and coordinating with various governing agencies for code compliance.
Requirements
- Lead the work of the mechanical design team throughout all project phases
- Write and edit mechanical specifications to fit project requirements
- Review mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
- Understand fan and pump curves to properly select equipment for different applications
- Perform psychrometric calculations for analyzing and selecting HVAC systems and equipment
- Develop sections and elevations for complex ductwork and piping areas
- Develop air and water flow diagrams
- Coordinate HVAC system control requirements and intended modes of operation with controls engineers
- Visit project sites to verify existing conditions or monitor construction progress
- Establish meetings and participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
- Responsible to coordinate workload, complete project assignments and deliverables on schedule
- Conduct virtual / on-site work sessions for projects
- Coordinate and assist affected disciplines with project addenda, RFIs, change proposal requests, and change orders
