Pathologist Assistant

Role Overview

Join our team as a Pathologists' Assistant at Regions Hospital, providing service in anatomic pathology under the direction of a qualified Pathologist. As a Pathologists' Assistant, you will perform anatomic gross tissue analysis and preparation, perform postmortem examinations, and maintain gross pathology records.

What You Will Do

Perform anatomic gross tissue analysis and preparation, perform postmortem examinations, maintain gross pathology records, assist Pathologists in preparing patient reports, and maintain quality assurance.

We are seeking a self-motivated, quality-focused Pathologists' Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Pathology Assistants study or a Baccalaureate degree with a major or minor in any of the biological or allied health sciences and 3 years of Pathologists' Assistant on-the-job training.

Requirements

• Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Pathology Assistants study
• Baccalaureate degree with a major or minor in any of the biological or allied health sciences and 3 years of Pathologists' Assistant on-the-job training
• Certification as a Pathologist Assistant by the American Association of Pathologist Assistants (AAPA) or American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 15 months of hire
