The Academy of Visual Arts is seeking a Technical Officer to provide support to teaching and administrative duties of studios, and will be stationed at the Kai Tak Campus. The appointee is expected to oversee the daily operations of the Printmaking Studio, ensure the safe and efficient operation of all printmaking facilities and equipment, and provide technical guidance and support to students of all levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Fine Arts or a related field
- At least 2 years of post-qualification experience, or equivalent practical experience
- Solid experience and knowledge in studio/workshop work and operation of studio equipment in the respective areas, inclusive but not limited to printmaking, prototyping, 3D printing, sculpture, etc.
- Strong proficiency in Photoshop
- Working knowledge of InDesign/Illustrator
- Experience with RIP software, ICC profiling, and monitor calibration
- Knowledge of Hong Kong OSHC/Labour Department safety regulations
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic studio environment
- Solid command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
- Keen awareness of emerging trends and advancements in arts and technological opportunities
- Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and be a good team player
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
