Founded in 1899, Hood Distribution is a leading wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood, composite panels, wood finishes, stains, and other specialty building products. We are seeking a motivated and high-performing Technical Service Representative to join our NEW ALBANY, IN team.
Requirements
- Work alongside Sales team members to help manage accounts, with a primary focus on technical issues and developing key relationships.
- Instruct customers on how to properly handle and apply various coatings products.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and report back to sales and management to help create a plan to fulfill them.
- Provide sales leads to Sales team.
- Serve as customer’s primary technical contact for any product related problems or issues within the assigned territory.
- Follow up with customers on outstanding issues, complaints, demos, etc.
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analysis.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Recommend changes in products, service and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
