
Job description
The Sheet Metal Worker Trainee program is a 2-week, unpaid training program in the Sheet Metal trade offered at Tidewater Community College. The program includes 80 hours of training, 7 days a week, and upon completion, candidates will be hired as a full-time sheet metal worker. The position involves fabricating, assembling, and installing components on aircraft carriers and submarines, using various hand tools and power equipment. Candidates must be able to pass a background investigation, drug screen, and physical agility test, and must be willing to work overtime and in extreme weather conditions.
