Backend Engineer Intern

ING is looking for a Backend Engineer Intern to join their IT Engineering community. The role involves supporting the implementation of new backend features and improvements to existing systems, assisting in identifying defects, and contributing to understanding and using different environments within the software lifecycle.

Requirements

• Basic proficiency in software development using Java
• Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot
• Understanding of secure and clean coding principles, and interest in learning automated and unit testing
• Familiarity with source control and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps)
• Willingness to work in a collaborative Scrum environment and learn from senior engineers
• Curiosity about backend fundamentals such as APIs, databases, performance, logging, and observability
