Assyrian Neo-Aramaic Interpreter (Remote)

This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities. The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings, primarily through phone or Zoom.

Requirements

• Fluency in both Assyrian Neo-Aramaic and English
• Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings
• Strong ability to interpret orally between Assyrian Neo-Aramaic and English in both directions
• Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
• Reliable phone, laptop or desktop computer, and stable high-speed internet connection
• Access to a quiet, private workspace to support remote assignments
