The Nurse Anesthetist administers anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures for all age groups under the professional direction of an anesthesiologist or surgeon.

Requirements

• Current Certification as a Nurse Anesthetist by the AANA Council on Certification or eligible for certification
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in
• Current Verification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the Board of Nursing
• Member of the AANA (optional)
• Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS and NALS certification
• Current Credentials / Reappointment per IHS Bylaws
• Successful completion of hospital and unit-specific orientation
