
Job description
We are seeking a Sr. Software/Applications Developer to support the Command and Control (C2) Afloat Integration Support (C2AIS) for the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in Portsmouth, VA. This role will manage the supported systems of the C5ISC and provides services to include system engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, network engineering, test engineering, electronic engineering, and technical writing.
Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software using multiple software development methodologies including Agile. Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications. Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
Requires a Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of eight (8) years applications development experience using programming languages (e.g. Rails, Oracle, SQL, MySQL,.NET, and Java etc.). Must have a current Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification and an active DoD security clearance.
