Provides technical support to employees and contractors in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of substation power equipment. Prepares power equipment specifications for the purposes of procuring major power system components. Analyzes power equipment events, determines root causes and recommends system improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Major in Electrical Engineering or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in related area for an Intermediate Engineer level.
- Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in related area for Senior Engineer level
- Power system coursework preferred for electrical engineering majors.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Utility experience preferred.
- Experience with testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high voltage power equipment preferred.
- Possess sound analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the Company.
- Ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision, in a team environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
- Ability to learn and utilize job specific software.
