Network Engineer Associate

Role Overview

This role supports critical network infrastructure operations within a large-scale, mission-driven environment focused on healthcare and defense-related services. You will contribute to the stability, performance, and security of LAN/WLAN networks across multiple sites, ensuring reliable connectivity for essential users and systems.

What You Will Do

You will support day-to-day network operations by assisting with installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network hardware and software under senior engineer guidance. You will help ensure system stability by identifying performance issues, responding to alerts, and supporting troubleshooting efforts across LAN/WLAN environments.

Requirements

• Foundational network engineering knowledge
• Hands-on technical experience
• Familiarity with enterprise networking environments
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3–5 years of relevant networking or infrastructure support experience
• Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance
• DoD 8570/8140 certification compliance
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, and SNMP protocols
• Experience with Cisco IOS, routed/switched networks, and LAN/WLAN environments
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or similar platforms
• Basic knowledge of network security concepts including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS
• Experience using ServiceNow or comparable ITSM ticketing systems
• Exposure to Windows, Active Directory, and basic UNIX/Linux environments
• Understanding of Ethernet standards (802.3, 802.11) and network diagnostics tools
