
Job description
The Laborer / Pipe Layer primary function involves manual labor working outside with your hands on a pipe crew for the installation of many different types of pipe. Must work productively and safely, consistently meet the production goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager.
Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries, wear all site specific mandated protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots and safety glasses. Manually maneuver pipe, lift a minimum weight of 100 pounds, shovel rock, dirt, or sand, swing a sledgehammer, lay pipe, figure grades, climb in and out of excavations by ladder or earthen ramp, manually carry materials including bags of concrete, lumber, plastic pipe, grates, castings, etc.
Must have transportation to and from various jobsite, ability to operate equipment and tools properly and safely, must meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency, exercises their right, responsibility and obligation to stop work when knowledgeable of job hazards, work outside in the elements, able to respond quickly and willing to assist with any job duties asked by Foreman.
