Optical Measurement Scientist Intern

Role Overview

This internship is ideal for students in electrical engineering, photonics, or information technology who want hands-on experience with coherent optical systems, high-speed data transmission, and advanced test and measurement solutions used in data centers and next-generation networks.

What You Will Do

Support measurement science activities, work in the laboratory, operate and optimize optical test and measurement equipment, develop test automation scripts, collect and process data, and document results.

Requirements

• Enrolled in or admitted to a Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Information Engineering, or a related field
• Fundamentals of optical communications, including high-speed or coherent optical systems
• Hands-on laboratory experience through lab courses or projects
• Practical experience with fiber-optic handling, including fiber facets and making fiber connections
• Basic programming skills for test automation and data analysis (MATLAB, Python)
• Strong analytical mindset and willingness to learn
• Good English communication skills
