Simulation Engineer

Role Overview

Dematic is hiring a Simulation Engineer for one of our hubs—Grand Rapids (MI), Atlanta (GA), Plano (TX), or Milwaukee (WI)—offering a hybrid schedule blending on-site collaboration and remote work. This role involves building and evaluating simulation models that contribute to the invention of automated and material-handling systems before they are implemented.

What You Will Do

Develop discrete-event simulation models to evaluate the performance of material-handling and automated systems. Support pre-sales and delivery activities by crafting low- to high-fidelity simulation models and conducting performance analysis.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of discrete-event simulation concepts, methods, and standard processes.
• Ability to apply statistical and quantitative analysis to simulation problems.
• Experience with material-handling systems, logistics, or automated solutions (preferred).
• Proficiency in at least one structured programming language (e.g., Python).
• Experience with simulation tools such as Plant Simulation (AutoMod experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or 3D modeling tools is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, technologies, and methods.
• Strong understanding of simulation modeling principles and approaches.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in simulation model development, system modeling, or performance analysis.
