Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer

Role Overview

As a Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer at Kyndryl, you will be a project-based subject matter expert in all things infrastructure, providing analysis, documentation, and technical support for z/OS operating system and system components. You will work on current projects, analyze problems, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems. You will also be involved in long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution.

What You Will Do

You will analyze performance issues, provide technical consultation and inquiries from other IT technical teams, support new product installation and evaluation, participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests, and lead daily Operations meetings. You will also provide direct technical support as needed in the planning, coordination, installation, implementation, and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to z/OS operating system, network, and component software.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in z/OS System Administration environment
• Validated knowledge in z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM, Third party products
• Proven experience in providing support for ISV products
• Ability to Recognize complex problems related to functional objectives
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
