Vivarium Technician II

The Vivarium Technician II is responsible for animal husbandry and maintenance of the Vivarium in compliance with laws and regulations. This role involves daily animal care, inventory management, and facility sanitation. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of experience with laboratory animals and AALAS certification.

Requirements

• Animal cage preparation and changing
• Providing food, water, and enrichment supplies to animals
• Observing animal health status and recording abnormal findings
• Performing daily inventory of animals
• Euthanizing animals and preparing carcasses for disposal
• Maintaining inventory of supplies
• Sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting floors
• Facility sanitation responsibilities
