Pharmacist

Pharmacist providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling, and teaching at Touro Infirmary.

Requirements

• Interprets medication orders and transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles accurately.
• Provides clinical consultation, drug information, and clarification to practitioners, nursing staff, patients, and family.
• Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel.
• Maintains knowledge of Louisiana and Federal pharmacy laws and DEA regulations.
• Accurately dispenses medications and prepares sterile admixtures, including sterile products, chemotherapy, and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN).
