Operator Technician, Lake Charles Polymers

Role Overview

This position is responsible for monitoring and operating plant process equipment, evaluating operating status, and performing troubleshooting to maximize unit reliability and quality production. The incumbent documents operating parameters, maintains communication, and monitors maintenance activities.

What You Will Do

Perform daily activities, task planning, incident investigations, and work performance to ensure safety, environmental, quality, reliability, and cost of operation. Take ownership of the unit to maximize production rates and maintain proper operating condition.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing plant, refinery, or industrial environment
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
• Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to climb scaffolds, towers, vessels, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a confined space and from elevated platforms
• Basic computer skills
• Communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
