Senior Database Engineer

Role Overview

Join a team of highly skilled Engineers and DBAs responsible for managing the Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server database estate. Work closely with other Infrastructure teams, developers, and end users. Opportunity to work on exciting technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps aligned methods of automation.

What You Will Do

Administer and manage the Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server database estate. Collaborate with other technology teams to identify and implement optimal solutions. Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies. Ensure high availability of the infrastructure and maintain a consistently high level of service delivery.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Deep knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL RDBMS required. Strong scripting skills and experience of designing, building, configuring Data-Guard, RMAN. Ability to diagnose and tune performance across the entire stack. Proven ability to automate builds and repetitive tasks.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL RDBMS
• Foundational knowledge of MongoDB or SQL Server
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tooling such as Terraform and Ansible
• Proficiency in Linux
• Strong scripting skills (preferably Bash, PL/SQL, Python, Powershell)
• Experience of designing, building, configuring Data-Guard, RMAN
• Ability to diagnose and tune performance across the entire stack (Database internals, OS, Storage, Networks)
• Proven ability to automate builds and repetitive tasks
