MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is remote out of Virginia, but requires occasional travel to Chesapeake or Norfolk, VA, for client meetings and events. The Mechanical Engineer will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to support Military Sealift Command (MSC) maintenance management and data development.
Requirements
- Performing a wide range of technical and engineering studies, including economic analyses and failure investigations for preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Collaborating with ship's force to identify maintenance repair requirements and supporting shipyard availabilities with expert analysis.
- Developing Mechanical System Calculations and Schematics, including System Load Estimates and Pipe Sizing/Fluid Flow Calculations.
- Executing HVAC Calculations, Pressure Drop Calculations, and Thermostat & Reheat Design/Selection to ensure environmental system integrity.
- Interpreting ship's drawings and equipment technical manuals to develop comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Supporting the Military Sealift Command (MSC) by providing engineering recommendations for propulsion, shafting, and auxiliary shipboard systems.
