
Job description
The 3rd Class Operating Engineer will contribute to the efficient operation of the Central Utilities Plant (CUP) at Maple Leaf Foods' manufacturing team. The incumbent will operate engineering systems in a safe and efficient manner, including water, compressed air, steam, and ammonia refrigeration.
The incumbent will support the development of SOPs, maintain and monitor steam generating requirements, complete routine plant inspections, and interface with contractual and inspection departments. They will also conduct work requests, apply corrective measures, and participate in machinery rebuilds and repairs.
The ideal candidate will hold a valid certificate of qualification as a 3rd Class Operating (Stationary) Engineer and have experience in ammonia systems. They will also have knowledge of steam, compressed air, hot water, power boilers, and refrigeration systems, as well as working knowledge of computer software and computerized maintenance systems.
