
Job description
The Shift Engineer will be responsible for preventative maintenance and cleaning duties, operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems, and maintenance of equipment in boiler and refrigeration rooms. They will work together with other departments to ensure a productive team environment and continuous improvement of plant processes.
The Shift Engineer will perform maintenance and repairs, troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, and maintain accurate records of safe management, operations, and maintenance. They will also improve plant efficiency by reporting on operating conditions of equipment and helping to develop and maintain a maintenance program.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid Ontario Refrigeration B Certificate or higher, and have 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing food processing environment as a Stationary Engineer. They will have knowledge of fuel systems, water treatment, air compressors, and refrigeration systems, and be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced processing environment.
