MasTec Civil is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team in Nashville, TN. The Operator will perform various tasks, including operating heavy construction equipment, performing safety inspections, and maintaining equipment. Must have at least 5-9 years of experience in construction, such as roads, highways, and bridges, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Requirements
- Proficiency in handling, pre-start inspections, post-start inspections, maneuvering skills, shut down and securing procedures
- Ability to work various shifts in a team environment
- Daily safety and operational inspection of the equipment
- Regular maintenance of the assigned equipment
- Thorough understanding of the equipment operation characteristics, controls, capacity limitations, emergency skills, response to fire, power line contact, tipping, malfunction characteristics and performance questions about the specific types of equipment in use
- Ability to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely
- Ability to load and unload materials into a truck
