Transportation Construction Inspector

Role Overview

We're looking for a Construction Inspector II to support field compliance, quality assurance, and documentation on active construction projects. Ideal candidates bring demonstrated growth in responsibility inspecting similar work and are ready to represent MBP in daily interactions with contractors, agencies, and project stakeholders.

What You Will Do

As a key MBP representative on active construction sites, you'll verify conformance with specifications and codes while supporting quality assurance and progress monitoring. You'll coordinate with agency personnel, contractors, and MBP team members to address discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role requires progressive experience inspecting construction work activities of similar type to assigned projects, demonstrating increasing responsibility. You'll work independently with periodic guidance from senior engineers or project leaders as scope and complexity increase.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED); or significant years of experience in engineering, architecture, or a skilled craft in the construction industry; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Working mathematics including algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric computations based on field measurements
• Construction-related training and experience demonstrating ability to perform duties
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email, internet navigation, web-based tools, and specialized equipment
• Client or MBP construction management information systems such as AWP, SiteManager, HICAM, or MBP’s OnTrack system, or ability to learn within one month of hire
• Fingerprint-based criminal history background check, DMV driving record check, reference verification, and work history verification prior to employment
• Valid driver’s license and safety shoes required
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
