Transportation Construction Inspector (Full-Time)

Role Overview

We're looking for a Construction Inspector II to support field compliance, quality assurance, and documentation on active construction projects. Ideal candidates bring demonstrated growth in responsibility inspecting similar work and are ready to represent MBP in daily interactions with contractors, agencies, and project stakeholders.

What You Will Do

Serve as a key MBP representative on active construction sites, verifying conformance with specifications and codes while supporting quality assurance and progress monitoring. Coordinate with agency personnel, contractors, and MBP team members to address discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Experience inspecting construction work activities of similar type to assigned projects, demonstrating increasing responsibility. Exposure to DOT-specific and horizontal construction environments, including grading, paving, demolitions, special design bridge projects, signal projects, signing projects, coating projects, and utility projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED); or significant years of experience in engineering, architecture, or a skilled craft in the construction industry; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification (required or obtained within 3 months of hire)
• Certification(s) from at least one or more of the following: State DOT (as appropriate), WACEL, ICC, NICET, CMAA, NACE, or MARTCP
• Valid driver’s license and safety shoes required
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
