McElhanney has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer in our Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, build, and optimize our information/data infrastructure. This will directly contribute to McElhanney’s digital transformation journey to be one of Canada’s leading insight-enabled engineering consultants.
Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on work in data analysis, data transformation, dimensional data modelling, data visualization, and business intelligence
- 5+ years of experience in a business intelligence technology role
- 5+ years of experience with data exploration and transformation using SQL platforms.
- 3+ years of experience working with PySpark and/or Python/pandas platforms for data manipulation and transformation.
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud-based architecture (Microsoft Fabric is preferred), application development, and system integrations
- Proven experience in executing large initiatives with complex data transformations leveraging diverse pool of enterprise systems and data stewards.
- Ability to deliver consistent high-quality deliverables in a complex fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.
- A track-record of building and fostering strong relationships within an organization
- Knowledge of leading industry trends and experience in deploying enterprise-wide best practices. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Power BI technologies is preferred.
