McElhanney is seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to join their team, providing technical leadership, project oversight, and mentorship responsibilities for marine structural projects. The role involves project management, senior-level design, and engineering, as well as collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in marine structural engineering design, P.Eng. registration, and experience with floating structures and Canadian design codes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in marine structural engineering design
- P.Eng. registration in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC
- Proven success delivering marine structural projects in a dual role as both Project Manager and Engineer of Record for public and private sector clients
- Experience with floating structures and aluminum structures is a strong asset
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian design codes for steel, concrete, and aluminum, with working familiarity with international marine codes and standards
- Advanced proficiency with structural analysis and design software, including SAP2000
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in project management and proposal development
- Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, and the ability to quickly adopt new tools and technologies
