Staff Cloud Development Engineer

Role Overview

Join ModMed, a team of 4,500+ passionate problem-solvers, to modernize medicine and increase medical practice success. As a Staff Cloud Engineer, you will spearhead efforts to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our AWS cloud infrastructure.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with staff / architect group to produce standardized, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure, lead technical strategy in areas like streaming, database, and AWS application development, and implement monitoring solutions using observability tools.

This role requires a consistent presence in our Boca Raton, FL office (3 days/week) to foster high-bandwidth collaboration and mentorship. You will be pivotal in defining and implementing best practices for cloud architecture and service utilization across a broad portfolio of applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 8 years in Cloud Engineering, SRE, software engineering, or a similar role, with a proven track record of solving complex problems in large-scale public cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Extensive experience managing AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Route53) or similar in another cloud platform
• Deep proficiency with Terraform, Helm, and other cloud-native technologies.
• Proficiency in a high-level language (Python, Java, Node, Go, or others) preferred
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes at scale
• Demonstrated mastery in at least one specialized area (Distributed Streaming, Relational/Non-relational Databases, or application development in AWS).
• Able to participate in an occasional on-call rotation to address high-priority production issues.
