Reviews medical records after discharge for completeness in compliance with the hospitals bylaws, federal and state requirements. Ensures that patient’s abstracts are correctly entered into the chart deficiency system. Communicates with physicians about delinquent reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to work well with others
- Must maintain a positive professional attitude
