Principal Quantum Measurement Engineer

Role Overview

At Microsoft Quantum, we aim to empower science and scientists to solve the world’s biggest problems by realizing advanced computing platforms at the intersection of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and quantum information technology. We are seeking a Principal Quantum Measurement Engineer to lead measurement strategy across quantum materials and device platforms.

What You Will Do

Define and lead cryogenic electrical characterization of quantum materials and devices, develop and deploy novel measurement techniques and protocols, drive large-scale experimental campaigns, and extract and translate experimental data into actionable insights.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
• Ability to leverage AI tools to drive innovation and efficiency
• Ability to work in an ‘AI-first’ environment using modern AI tools to accelerate discovery through hardware development

Benefits

• Base pay range: USD $142,800.00 - $274,800.00 per year
