
Job description
The Microbiology Technician prepares samples for processing, maintains documentation, and facilitates testing procedures. This role involves preparing samples, writing identification, pipetting solutions, and maintaining equipment and materials. The technician must also maintain knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and adhere to safety policies.
Prepare samples for analysis, write identification onto plates, pipette sample solutions, pour agar into plates, collect plates, prepare media and broth, and read plates and tubes to determine the number of organisms in the sample.
This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a laboratory setting. The successful candidate will be able to maintain knowledge of LIMS, adhere to safety policies, and support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.
