Licensed Pathology Technician - Surgical Pathology

Role Overview

As a Pathology Technician, you will gain experience grossing biopsy specimens, verifying patient information, and evaluating specimens for proper orientation and dissection. You will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and utilizing state-of-the-art technology.

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include grossing biopsy specimens, verifying patient information, evaluating and deciding on specimen orientation, inking margins, and dictating gross descriptions using the MModal voice recognition system. You will also input specimen data into the Laboratory Information System (CoPath).

Requirements

• New York State Licensure as Pathologist's Assistant, Histotechnologist or Laboratory Technologist
• ASCP certification
• Associates Degree or equivalent experience
• NYS licensure as Lab Technician or Histological Technician
• Grossing experience
