Newport Mental Health (NMH) is a progressive organization utilizing person-centered recovery approaches to support individuals recovering from mental illness and substance use disorders. They provide a range of services, including outreach, therapy, and substance use therapy, within a multidisciplinary setting. The Prescriber/Psychiatrist role in Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services involves psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and treatment oversight for children and families.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification or board eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Rhode Island
- 5+ years of experience in providing psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and families
- Proficiency in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment modalities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of psychiatric disorders and treatment protocols
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications
- Awareness of family systems dynamics
- Understanding of psychiatric emergencies and crisis intervention
- Proficiency in prescribing and managing psychotropic medications
- Effective communication and collaboration
- Competence in managing psychiatric crises
- Adaptability and treatment challenges
