The Director is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction of Risk Services from a regional perspective, managing Risk Services advisory, consulting, training, and education services, and managing the operational day-to-day functions of the department and staff.
Requirements
- Driving a culture rooted in customer safety through effective communication of core NBFC values and Risk Services mission statement
- Managing hiring, development, talent and performance management, and succession planning
- Developing and maintaining the Risk Services strategy in support of the overall NBFC business strategy
- Determining and prioritizing annual initiatives based on business and strategic value
- Developing detailed functional team operational plans, budgets, priorities, and projects
- Executing annual plans to help internal and external customers mitigate risks through technical advice, training, and consulting
- Meeting or exceeding the annual risk assessment plan
- Leading and overseeing the gathering of market and customer intelligence on risk management to support business strategies
- Monitoring industry trends in risk management (including our competitors): identifying key influencers; describing trends; determining implications; identifying threats, opportunities, and recommendations for Risk Services
- Minimum University Degree or College Diploma and/or industry-specific experience in a similar position
- Minimum 15 years industry experience
- CRSP or CRM professional designation or equivalent is a definite asset
- Solid knowledge and understanding of risk and insurance management including business sector standards, codes and regulations
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing
- Ability to cross the USA / Canada International border without restriction
