Director, Major Projects

As a Director, Major Projects, you will be responsible for strategic leadership in major projects, emphasizing risk management, effective governance, and stakeholder engagement. You will oversee major capital projects, establish project teams, and manage materialized risks. You will also develop and execute contracting strategies, oversee procurement strategies, and manage project reporting and governance.

Requirements

• Engineering or Business related University Degree, preferably with a specialization in Project Governance & Oversight
• 15+ years of related experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
• Applicable experience on other major industrial projects ranging in Total Installed Cost from $100M to greater than $1B. International experience would be considered an asset
• Professional designation in Project Management (PMP or equivalent) would be considered an asset
• Solid understanding of Nutrien's business drivers and operating activities considered an asset
• Ability to interface with various levels of management in a multi-task, deadline orientated, team environment
• Highly organized with strong leadership, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience in cost forecast modeling through systems and Excel
• Strong Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, proficiency in Excel a must
• Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a collaborative, proactive, positive and constructive manner
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Self-starting attitude with a high energy level, demonstrated success in a fast-paced, and deadline driven environment
• Systems oriented thinking
• Ability to work with a variety of technological tools in an efficient manner
• Sound, professional judgment and subject matter expertise in relevant accounting and finance matters
