Dredge Operator

Role Overview

Responsible for operating a power-driven dredge to excavate and maintain navigable channels in waterways and to mine sand at the bottom of lakes, rivers, and streams.

What You Will Do

Operate levers to position the dredge for excavation, start and stop engines, pump water to clear machinery pipelines, and monitor gauges to ensure machinery is working properly.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Must be able to work in adverse working conditions, perform duties in a safe manner, and work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous dredge experience preferred
• Prior knowledge of various pumps
• Experience with heavy equipment
• Ability to operate a boat
• Ability to swim at least 50 yards
