Mortgage Loan Originator I

As a Mortgage Loan Originator I at Raiz FCU, you will be responsible for educating and assisting members with our mortgage loan products and services. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of creditworthiness and risk assessment, and the ability to communicate effectively with members, realtors, and builders. You will be responsible for accessing member questions and needs, cultivating relationships with members and referral sources, and performing follow-up work to achieve conditional approval within established time frames and guidelines.

Requirements

• Customer service experience
• Experience in financial institutions or lending
• Credit union experience
• Understanding of creditworthiness and risk assessment
• Familiarity with title reports, insurance, and appraisals
• Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations
• Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, good analytical and financial skills
• Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and project manage
• Strong interviewing skills
• Ability to be resourceful and demonstrate critical thinking
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
• Able to operate related computer applications, calculator, and other basic business equipment
• Strong communication and public relations abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
• Process improvement understanding
• Knowledge of Credit Union loan policies, products, procedures, processing, and underwriting
