Senior Software Engineer II

Senior Java Engineer position available at LexisNexis in Sydney, Australia. Develop high-performance Java-based backend services and real-time data platforms using Apache Kafka and big data technologies. Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and product teams to deliver data-driven solutions.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks)
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, performance tuning)
• Experience working with big data technologies, such as Apache Hadoop, or Snowflake
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
