Group Leader - Choose Your Own Pace: Appalachian Mountain Club in Bretton Woods, NH

We are looking for Tour Directors to serve as Group Leaders for our Choose Your Own Pace: Appalachian Mountain Club in Bretton Woods, NH program. The ideal candidates will be local to the program location and have experience leading educational and/or travel programs, particularly in the mountains.

Requirements

• Walk at least 10 miles on varied terrain with moderate climbs and descents
• Climb at least 2,000 ft. up and descend 2,000 ft. down steeper terrain on hikes of at least 6 miles
• Scramble up and down rocky terrain
• Group leadership experience in an educational and/or travel program environment
• Prior Elderhostel/Road Scholar experience preferred
• Experience working with individuals 55+ and handling different levels of physical ability preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience strongly preferred
• Strong leadership skills to build group cohesion
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work with a team and collaborate and share best practices
• Access to reliable cell phone, capable of texting and/or emails
