This position leads large teams of experienced Procurement professionals, overseeing RFPs, negotiation strategy, cost accountability, and program execution. Develops programs for effective vendor selection and management to minimize the organization’s purchasing costs without compromising quality or reliability of supply.
Requirements
- Manages execution of processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement goals
- Responds to critical client issues and problems
- Monitors suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries
- Authorizes purchase orders, negotiates prices and approves payments to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly
- Shares accountability for the planning, development and execution of major supply chain initiatives and industrial procurements
- Maintains a strong emphasis on performance-based supplier relationships
- Presents program status at program reviews and to senior leadership, communicating with all levels of the organization
- Lead the development of detailed project plans, host regular project reviews with supply chain teams and other stakeholders
