Job description
S&B is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to perform mechanical design activities for power generation/power island equipment design. The role requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical/process/thermal design or related functional area. The engineer will be responsible for preparing design sketches, performing calculations, and interpreting technical data.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will prepare basic design sketches, perform calculations, and interpret technical data to support broader design activities. They will also participate in reviews of P&IDs/PFDs, meet with clients' technical staff, and conduct field trips to gather operating data and equipment information.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, process simulation tools, and experience with software such as Thermoflow, PIPE-FLO, and Impulse. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
