
Job description
The Machinist I produces replacement metal parts, shaping new parts and operating standard machine tools like lathes, mills, and grinders, following detailed blueprints.
Produces replacement and new parts, interprets written instructions and specifications, uses machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments, sets up and operates standard machine tools.
Requires a well-rounded training in machine-shop practice, usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
