Carbon Technical Specialist

This role is responsible for ensuring Sistema.bio’s carbon projects are technically robust, compliant with the latest carbon standards, and grounded in conservative, science-based methodologies supporting the successful certification of projects and the timely issuance of high-integrity carbon credits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental policy/studies, engineering, economics, public policy, or a related field.
• 5+ years working on carbon projects under standards such as Gold Standard, VERRA, CDM, or similar mechanisms.
• Strong knowledge of carbon methodologies, emissions accounting, and relevant scientific literature (e.g. IPCC).
• Experience preparing technical documents such as PDDs, MADDs, and ER sheets.
• Strong Excel and modelling skills to analyze emission reduction models and project data.
• Ability to manage complex projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver results under tight timelines.
