SAP Application Operation Lead

Role Overview

The SAP Application Operation Lead oversees daily operations and project implementation activities across SAP technical, development, and functional teams. This role ensures the smooth operation, continuous improvement, and successful deployment of SAP systems while aligning with business objectives and IT standards.

Responsibilities include team management, SAP system operations and daily support oversight, project implementation management, technical oversight and governance, development and enhancement coordination, functional team coordination, stakeholder communication and reporting, and governance, compliance and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum 15 years of experience in SAP environments
• Strong knowledge of SAP systems such as ECC, S/4HANA, BW, and related modules
• Solid understanding of SAP Basis, system architecture, security, and technical infrastructure
• Experience in SAP project delivery, including upgrades, rollouts, and full lifecycle implementations
• Familiarity with IT service management processes and SLA-driven environments
• Good understanding of compliance and governance standards and audit requirements
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working with external vendors and managing third-party service providers
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight timelines
• SAP certifications (e.g., S/4HANA, Basis, or relevant modules) will be an added advantage
