Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scrap Metal Buyer to join our environmentally-conscious team. As a Scrap Metal Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing various types of scrap metal from individuals, businesses, and industrial facilities.
Requirements
- Identify various grades of scrap metal material.
- Evaluate the quality and quantity of scrap metal materials to determine their value and suitability for recycling.
- Load and unload scrap metal from vehicles.
- Safely and accurately store materials.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations throughout the buying process.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, weights, and prices.
- Bale, shear, and sort materials for shipping and receiving.
- Ongoing preventive maintenance cleaning of warehouse facility.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, metal prices, and industry developments to make informed buying decisions.
- Collaborate with the recycling team to optimize processes and contribute to the overall success of the recycling operation.
- Promote the company's commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
