Mechanical Engineer - Maritime

Role Overview

Spear AI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with maritime experience to design, build, test, and deploy unmanned maritime sensor systems. The role involves working in a cross-functional team, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in at-sea deployment, test, and recovery operations.

What You Will Do

Design and document mechanical systems, produce CAD artifacts, select manufacturing processes, and troubleshoot prototypes. You will also participate in operational testing, incorporate feedback, and handoff to manufacturing.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture
• 5+ years of relevant experience (or 10+ years of highly relevant experience)
• Prior maritime design experience
• Familiarity with standard mechanical engineering tools and processes
• Extensive hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and refinement of designs
• Ability to physically participate in at-sea deployment, test, and recovery operations
