
Job description
Spear AI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with maritime experience to design, build, test, and deploy unmanned maritime sensor systems. The role involves working in a cross-functional team, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in at-sea deployment, test, and recovery operations.
Design and document mechanical systems, produce CAD artifacts, select manufacturing processes, and troubleshoot prototypes. You will also participate in operational testing, incorporate feedback, and handoff to manufacturing.
This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, maritime design experience, and the ability to work in a high-performing development team. You should be willing to receive a Secret or Top Secret/SCI security clearance and be able to physically participate in at-sea deployment, test, and recovery operations.
