Provides healthcare services, applying cross-sectional computed tomography (CT) imaging and all related duties to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
Requirements
- Verifies patients' clinical history, ensuring that information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner.
- Completes proper patient identification and order verification.
- Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment and accessories as directed.
- Positions patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Prepares/administers contrast media and/or medications as per protocol.
- Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and pushes images to picture archiving and communication system (PACS) as the accepted electronic format for permanent patient record, assuring proper patient identification is evident.
- Schedules patients for procedures.
- Maintains a clean work environment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel.
