JUVENILE JUSTICE DETENTION OFFICER II - 80053259

This is a highly responsible position in the criminal justice system. The employee is expected to perform all the duties in the optimum responsible manner, demonstrate leadership by being a positive role model for staff, youth and the community, and treat all persons with dignity and respect.

Requirements

• Adhere to agency or facility policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for youth, themselves and other staff
• Assist in the operation of a secure detention center, assuring the safe and secure custody of all assigned detained youth
• Perform duties in Master Control, admissions, releases, and transportation
• Supervise youth in all activities and maintain control of detained youth
• Inspect facility, youth, visitors and packages delivered to the facility for contraband
• Train and/or coach employees concerning their duties and orients them concerning facility policies and procedures
• Write reports and prepares required records regarding incidents, detained youth movement and noteworthy information
• Transport and escorts detained youth to medical, criminal justice, social services and judicial facilities as needed
